Products: The center houses a 40,000-square-foot (3716-m²) hangar and uses 138-foot (42-m) clearspan straight column framing with high sides supported by a 286- by 10-foot- (87- by 3-m-) deep open web truss that supports two large doors. A Double-Lok standing-seam roof also was installed. Endwalls and sidewalls consist of MBCI 7.2 panels. Metallic Building Co., Houston, manufactured the metal.

Fine Points: In addition to the hangar, the facility includes 44,000 square feet (4088 m²) of offi ce space. Underslab heating ensures a comfortable and energy-efficient work area. Completed in November 2007, the facility offers general aviation uses, such as aircraft storage, maintenance, repair and technical support.
