The U.S. National Safety Council, Itasca, Ill., recently awarded its Occupational Excellence Achievement Award to Butler Manufacturing Co., Kansas City, Mo., for its 2006 safety record. Although Butler Manufacturing has earned other safety awards in the past, this is the company’s first from NSC. The award recognizes the company’s record of no lost-time injuries during the calendar year and a recordable injury rate less than half of the corresponding industry segment as defined in “Fabricated Metal Building & Component Manufacturing,” published by OSHA, Washington, D.C.
