Products: The project uses 5,193 square feet of 0.040-gauge aluminum Kalzip 65/400 in a standing seam profile with a 6/8-inch perforated pattern on the exterior and 4,155 square feet of Kalzip 65/400 solid for the interior. Both products are from Kalzip, Michigan City, Ind., and have silver metallic finishes.
Fine Points: ASI Limited is a building enclosure specialist that handles enclosing a building’s exterior, including curtainwalls, windows, metal panels, doors and ornamental metals by supplying, fabricating and installing the systems. The unique perforated screen was chosen because the company’s new building was meant to be a showplace for its capabilities and forward-thinking philosophy. It was applied as a cantilevered screen system attached to the curtainwall. The 280,000-square-foot building was completed in March 2008.
