People: Architect, Orne + Associates Inc., Borrego Springs, Calif.; general contractor, Beck Group, Dallas; and elevator manager, Facility Construction, Dallas
Products: Approximately 86 square feet (8 m2) of Cambridge, Md.-based Cambridge Architectural’s Cambridge Tidal metal fabric was installed with a framed panel system. It also was used for wall panels. The ceiling boasts about 712 square feet (66 m2) of Ridge Modifi ed metal fabric attached with Cambridge Architectural’s Tableau attachment hardware.
Fine Points: This mixed-use development is modeled after New York’s Times Square. The woven metal fabric adorns the lobbies of the east and west buildings and also dresses walls, ceilings and interior elevator cabs. The metal-fabric ceiling system was designed to create light diffusion while obscuring the overhead sprinkler system.
