People: Architect, Paone Architecture, Saratoga Springs; general contractor, Munter Enterprises, Middle Grove, N.Y.
Products: The first in a planned seven-building, mixed-use development utilizes approximately 14,000 square feet of insulated metal panels in two profiles from Metl-Span in Lewisville, Texas. The panels were installed in both horizontal and vertical applications. More than 7,200 square feet of 3-inch CF42 Santa Fe wall panels were installed vertically. Approximately 3,600 square feet of 3-inch CF24 and CF30 striated wall panels were installed horizontally.
Fine Points: The project used a preengineered building frame for the structure. The job started as a classic cottage design to fit the personality of the area but it was later determined that the building needed to have a more high-tech look to attract a broader range of tenants. Using a preengineered building with modular panels, the team was able to redesign the look just by changing the colors and switching to a horizontal application.
