CF Architectural wall panels in ascot white and silversmith colors were installed on the building. The panels are highlighted with contrasting painted accent stripes running the length of the building.
Fine Points: Many of the panels were 28 feet (8.5 m) long with tight tolerances, but the greatest challenge involved the on-site fabrication of the custom panels used on the entrance canopy and vertical band accents. Detail work included compound miters and acute angles.

Rollforming Company Orders CNC Machine
Mentor, Ohio-based Roll-Kraft ordered a new CNC machine for its headquarters in response to increased demand for new and reworked tooling with short delivery time. The machine will increase the capacity for turning small precision parts that require tight tolerances. The installation of the machine, expected to occur early this year, will bring the total CNC machine count in the Mentor facility to 38. For more information, visit

Seminar in Mexico Enhances Education
Representatives from service centers across Mexico attended a Coil Processing Seminar last October that featured information about blanking, multi-blanking, and leveling and slitting, as well as new processes for hot roll black material. The seminar’s focus was to teach the 40 attendees how to apply new technology, improve tolerances, produce optimum flatness in material and maximize overall efficiency. Featured speakers included Dean Linders and Jeff Herrell from Red Bud, Ill.-based Red Bud Industries; Eric Theis, a consultant to the metal processing industry; Al Zelt of ASKO, Homestead, Pa.; and Chris Liefer from The

New Solar Energy Division Launched
Hamlin Cos., Garner, N.C., a manufacturer of commercial HVAC duct systems and commercial roofing contractor, has launched Hamlin Energy Services, a division that designs and installs solar-energy solutions for the commercial and industrial construction market. The division uses a six-step process for a turnkey solution when installing flexible, flat-panel, building-integrated photovoltaic laminates that create a rooftop power generation system. Customer Service Center Enhances Capabilities
McConnellsburg, Pa.-based JLG Industries Inc., a subsidiary of Oshkosh Truck Corp., opened its fourth major U.S. ServicePlus Center to provide local aftermarket support for JLG Industries’ customers in Arizona, California and Nevada. Located in Riverside, Calif., the center provides equipment service, mobile tech support, parts stocks and used equipment for JLG Industries’ equipment rental and distribution customers. Customers also can schedule operator, service and product training classes. The new facility is a key component of the company’s strategy to provide a full spectrum of life-cycle enhancing services. MBMA Expands Technical Staff

Jay Johnson recently joined the Cleveland-based Metal Building Manufacturers Association’s engineering department. Johnson brings almost 20 years of experience in light commercial and residential construction and carries degrees in architectural engineering and architectural studies from Penn State University, University Park, Pa. He will further MBMA’s ongoing efforts to advance technical research aimed to enhance the industry’s body of knowledge.
