Hillside Urban Development/CSGM Canyon Ridge LP
AUSTIN, TEXAS
This multifamily development eventually will comprise 101 units (39 separate buildings with four units per building) and is scheduled to be completed at the end of this year. The prime location, balcony view and unique design make the units desirable living spaces. Lancaster, Pa.-based Fabral Inc. manufactured the 30-year composition shingle with Galvalume standing seam for shed and gable roofs. Although the original proposal was for the installation of a galvanized corrugated wall panel, the owners were not happy with the appearance after the first building was completed; they requested a more dramatic metal profile. Fabral provided 4-inch (102-mm) Rib panels with exposed fasteners.
The panels are box rib in a slate-gray color combined with stained cedar and masonry walls to accent the house. Nearly every panel was cut to fit around windows, doors and tapered soffit lines, making for a demanding but worthwhile project. Senderro Construction Services Inc., Austin, served as the general contractor; Pedernales Roofing, Austin, was the roofing contractor; JZMK Partners, Irving, Calif., served as the designer; and Central Texas Metal Roofing Supply Co. Inc., Austin, was the distributor.
