The Chicago-based Steel Stud Manufacturers Association has announced the officers for its 2012-2014 board of directors. Robert Clark, chairman of Quail Run Building Materials in Phoenix will serve as the association’s new chairman. Clark has thirty years of experience within the steel framing industry. He succeeds William A. Gardner, president and CEO of Marino/WARE in Chicago. Gardner will remain on the board as immediate past chairman. Martin Kiehm, president of Custom Stud, Lakeville, Minn., was named vice chairman. Lawrence Stone, president of Spokane, Wash.-based SCAFCO was named secretary/treasurer of the association.
Board members support the mission of SSMA to uphold the development and maintenance of quality product standards and specifications, as well as to serve as a unified voice to the residential and light commercial construction industry. SSMA’s board of directors also includes Daniel Dry of Steel Construction Systems in Orlando, Mark Baryla of Olmar Supply in Livermore, Calif., and Steve Linch of Telling Industries in Cambridge, Ohio.
