The W.P. Hickman Co., Asheville, N.C., has named Dr. Robert Steffen director of engineering. He is responsible for leading the company’s engineering and researchand- development activities. Previously, Steffen held a variety of U.S. and international engineering-management positions and taught steel design, structural analysis and mechanics of materials as an assistant professor at the University of New Hampshire, Durham.
