Timberline Learning Center, Breckenridge, Colo.
People: Architect, Matthew Stais Architects, Breckenridge; general contractor, TCD, Breckenridge; installer, Premier Roofing, Breckenridge; distributor, Riddell and Co., Englewood, Colo.
Products: Approximately 3,000 square feet of hemlock green, regal blue, and mission red Omega-Lite panels from Laminators Inc. in Hatfield, Pa., were installed using black, one-piece Tight-Fit Moldings. The different colors were used to identify the three primary classroom areas of the facility.
Fine Points: The facility was designed to provide affordable quality care for 60 children. Scheduling was a top priority, along with safety, security, sustainable design, and budget. Aluminum composite panels were chosen for the exterior cladding because of the range of colors, short lead time, and high level of recycled content.
