Brock Indoor Football Practice Facility at the Georgia Institute of Technology, Atlanta

People: Architect, Knight Architects, Atlanta; general contractors, Barton Malow Construction, Alpharetta, Ga., and May, Moeller, Purcell Construction, Norcross, Ga.; metal subcontractor, Bristol Engineered Metals, Duluth, Ga.; distributor, Orion Associates, Decatur, Ga.

Products: Mega-Rib horizontal metal siding from Shreveport, La.–based McElroy Metal was used on the facility.

Fine Points: The project, a full-size football field in an enclosed space, required 590 tons of steel to build. Massive hangar doors allow easy access to and from the existing outdoor facility, which is situated directly adjacent to the new building. A viewing platform surrounds the field, and the tallest point is 65 feet over the middle of the field.
