The Belfair, Wash.–based Metal Roofing Alliance’s quest to secure homeowner leads via a range of media outlets has paid off. Its media campaign returned a 71 percent increase in homeowner leads, contributing to its biannual Homeowner Survey. According to the survey, 45 percent of respondents have installed any type of roof in the past two years and more than 80 percent of those were metal. Of those who have not installed a roof, 52 percent plan to in the next year and nearly 90 percent of those who have not installed a roof are considering metal. The survey also revealed that although most consumers have decided on a material for their new roof, the majority have yet to choose their contractor, making them prime prospects for metal roofing contractors. “A key take away from this survey is: people who visit the MRA Web site are highly likely to install metal roofing. And, contractors who haven’t yet joined the alliance are missing a golden opportunity,” says MRA president Bill Hippard. For more information about the survey, visit www.metalroofing.com.
