Houston-based NCI Group has entered into an agreement with a subsidiary of Kansas City, Mo.-based BlueScope Steel North America to purchase Lewisville, Texas-based Metl-Span. A leader in insulated metal panel development for over 40 years, Metl-Span operates five manufacturing facilities in the U.S. The $145 million sale has estimated net proceeds of $117 million after purchase price adjustments, taxes, and fees. BlueScope has owned Metl-Span since February 2008 when it acquired the businesses of IMSA Steel Corp. , which include: Kalama, Wash.-based Steelscape; Sacramento, Calif.-based ASC Profiles; Memphis, Tenn.-based Varco Pruden Buildings; and Metl-Span. BlueScope’s North American subsidiary, Steelscape, will continue to supply product to Metl-Span and Metal-Span will continue to supply product to BlueScope Buildings North America.
